Start by deciding whether you want extra length, an overlay on your current nails, or maintenance of an existing set. Then discuss Gel-X, BIAB, dipping or acrylic with the technician. Vidao’s Houston menu lists all four, but their appointment names, maintenance options and add-ons are different.

Gel-X uses preformed soft-gel tips. Builder gel can be used to create structure over a natural nail, but the exact product and application matter. Use your routine to choose length
Think about typing, handling small objects, household tasks and any workplace restrictions. Bring a reference that shows the length from the side as well as the design from above. If you are trying extensions for the first time, explain which everyday tasks you need to do comfortably.
A design can look different on short natural nails than on long extensions. The technician can help separate the essential detail, such as a French tip or one accent nail, from the length in the reference. Our nail shape guide can help you describe what you like.
Book maintenance as carefully as the first set
Vidao lists acrylic refills in the same color, a color change or gel polish, plus Pink & White refill and Gel X & BIAB Refill entries. The presence of a refill on the menu does not mean every existing set can be refilled. Tell the team which product you currently wear, when it was applied and whether you have lifting or a broken nail.
If you are changing systems or visiting from another salon, ask whether removal is needed before the next application. Reserve time for that work. Do not pull off an enhancement to prepare for your appointment; ask for a removal plan that matches the actual product.
Ask for the complete design quote
Chrome, cat-eye and gel French designs are separate enhancement add-ons. Length, shape changes and cut-down services may also affect the total. A useful request is: “I currently wear dip, want this shorter shape and a chrome finish; which appointment should I book, and what will the total be?”

Which system lasts the longest?
There is no reliable single answer for every guest. Application, nail condition, length, daily use and maintenance all affect wear. Ask for a maintenance recommendation for your selected system.
Is one system damage-free?
No enhancement is guaranteed to be damage-free. Preparation, product compatibility and removal matter. Tell the technician about past product reactions or discomfort.
Can I choose nail art before choosing the material?
